The Wartburg

Wartburg Castle 

Wartburg Castle is situated on a 400m high plateau and thus offers an excellent view over the mountainous landscape of Thuringia. On a guided tour you can marvel at many elements, some of them from the 14th and 15th centuries. Of course, the Luther Room, where Luther translated the New Testament, must not be missed on a tour. A special highlight during the warmer months is the donkey ride up the fortress.

• Guided tours are currently not possible. Audio tours can be carried out for this purpose.
